A lampshade you can stand on.

This was the first purely aesthetic project I have done since high school. It is constructed with 60 printed half joiners, 12 laser-cut acrylic faces, 180 screws, and 180 nuts. Growing up primarily making fighting robots, I have conditioned myself to make maintainable and robust things. I know this is true because I made a lampshade that I can stand on and uses $20 of hardware.

The dodecahedron serves as a lampshade for a 12v bulb. Given that the screws already ruined the sleekness of the lamp, I decided having an exposed barrel jack would be fine from the outside. The bulb armature is made from the same wire as the hook is made from. The wire suspends the bulb in the center of the lampshade.
