The Inspiration

I have been a huge fan of this art group called BREAKFAST Studio. They make a lot of really cool pieces that are mechanical displays. The pieces that inspired use articulated mirrors as pixels. As much as I would like to build something as awesome as this, it is a little out of the budget to put a motor in every pixel of my display. This is when I got the idea to try to have an underactuated system. Pixels would only be actuated with the correct combination of moves from multiple actuators.
